What is BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate)?

Harris-Benedict Equation (Legacy)
The Harris-Benedict equation was the original standard but tends to overestimate BMR by 5-15% in most people. It was revised in 1984 but still lacks the accuracy of Mifflin-St Jeor:

Katch-McArdle Formula (Body Composition Based)
